Two Scilly Businesses Receive EU Funding
Two Isles of Scilly businesses have received funding from what could turn out to be the islands’ last pot of money from Europe.
Flares Beauty Salon on St Mary’s and SC Salt, a St Martin’s based sea salt production company, have both been given grants from the current round of the European Regional Development Fund.
Andrew Walder from SC Salt said the cash would allow his company to purchase equipment to streamline their packing process.
And Claire Riley of Flares said she would be able to offer a brand new beauty treatment to grow her business.
The so-called Voucher Scheme programme in Scilly is a £1.36 million investment fund financed by the EU to provide match funded financial support to local businesses or start-ups.
