Tresco-April-16-lady-injured-leg-RCHTThe Cornwall Air Ambulance had a busy April in Scilly.

The helicopter airlifted five patients to Treliske Hospital during the month, three of whom were suffering from serious medical conditions.

A visitor to Tresco injured her leg after falling on the coast path and was flown to the mainland hospital in 35 minutes.

And a man on St Mary’s fell while at work requiring evacuation to the mainland.

In total the service attended 68 calls across the region, 24 more than the same period last year.
