Scilly Gets Double Entry In Popular Blogger’s Islands Chart

Scilly has taken 2 places in a list of the top 7 “enchanting islands in the UK”.

Popular travel blog site “A Lady In London” has included Bryher and Tresco in their new chart.

Writer Julie Falconer, who contributes to National Geographic and Lonely Planet, describes the islands as a “tiny archipelago of paradise” and writes about our “Caribbean blue water and beautiful beaches”. California-born Julie goes on to say that Scilly’s coastline “could be mistaken for somewhere in the tropics. But turn inland and there are plenty of signs of Britishness, from the fields full of sheep to the picture pretty cottages.” Julie says Tresco is one of the loveliest islands because of the gardens and excellent seafood. But she also raves about Bryher for its walks and sense of remoteness. And William, the Fraggle Rock goat gets a mention. She loves “the lone red phone box and its attendant golden goat”.

Scilly’s islands are included in the list along with Arran, Skye, the Isle Of Wight, Holy Island and Sark.
