Get ‘Hands On’ With Science At The Five Islands School
It’s part of National Science Week and will allow parents with children in years 5 to 11 to find out what they’re learning in the school’s laboratory.
Acting Head of Science, Paul Bolton is promising “buzzing electricity, fizzing chemicals, body bits, flaming sounds, runaway cars, laser light traces, life in a single water drop and flame testing.”
And pupils will be on hand to answer any science-related questions from the adults.
The children will also be taking part in a week of science-based activities, including lunchtime lab experiments, a ‘great egg race’ and special assemblies for primary and secondary classes.
The lab open evening will run from 4pm to 6.30pm on Tuesday 15th March and you can get more information from Paul at PaulBolton@fiveislands.scilly.sch.uk.
