Events Bring In Cash For Air Ambulance

Cornwall Air Ambulance 2015At least £2,100 was raised in Scilly last year for the Cornwall Air Ambulance. And that total is set to go even higher as fundraising efforts from across all five islands are counted.

Scilly’s Community Ambassador and Fundraising Coordinator Helen Sams said £620 was raised by the weekly charity quiz held at the Old Town Inn.

And that was boosted by a further £370 from the rollover jackpot question, which had not been won by the end of the year.

The Island Grand Christmas draw held on 20th December raised £492 and a second raffle at the Tresco Christmas Fayre, organised by Maralyn Hobbs, brought in £201.

A draw in the memory of the late Tony Smith, held at the Isles of Scilly Golf Club on Captain’s Day, raised £455.

Helen says the Air Ambulance Charity Quiz is due to restart this Friday, 29th January, and will remain on a Friday until Easter. It starts at 8.30pm with £1 per person entry.
