St Mary’s Harbour Improvement Project Weekly Update – From Kier 11 December 2015

Quay Extension:
10th Slab poured – 2 remain.
Fenders – 16.5 of 19 pre-drilled, installation follows once slab pours are complete.

Quay Widening:
All 13 Wall panels installed including in situ tie-in wall section.
External access platforms 2 of 13 installed.
Removal of existing harbour wall 95% complete.
Pump chamber installed. Oil Interceptor to follow. Backfilling around tanks on-going.

Harbourside building:

Ticket Office – Intercom remaining.
Freight Offices – New DB installed works to install chiller works & electrical feed ongoing.
Freight Store – Cladding to external walls 85% complete, remainder follows sliding door installation.
Internal ply panelling complete.
Balcony – Balustrades –installation complete, decking ongoing.
Chiller – Testing and commissioning on-going.
Parting Carn
Batching concrete for quay extension and widening foundations continues.
Demobilisation ongoing.
Stone cutting for new wall installation to quay widening.
Fender pre-assembly.

Porthloo:
Recycling of the dredged material at Porthloo continues using Tractor Trailer and a Wheeled Excavator.
All large boulders will be retained and used in the sea defences.
Kier has installed cameras on all working vehicles with a recording facility for appraisals and record purposes.
