St Mary’s Harbour Improvement Project Weekly Update from Kier

Here’s the update for the Week Ending 27 November 2015

Quay Extension:

2nd Slab poured – 10 remain.

Fenders – 15 of 19 pre-drilled, installation continues this week.

Quay Widening:

100% Pre-cast concrete units placed and anchored.

100% Foundation works complete.

10 of 13 Wall panels installed.

External access platforms 2 of 13 installed.
Removal of existing harbour wall commenced.

Harbourside building:

Ticket Office – Duchy works to fire alarm and intercom ongoing.

Freight Offices – New DB installed works to install chiller works & electrical feed ongoing.

Freight Store – Cladding to external walls 85% complete, remainder follows sliding door installation.

Internal ply panelling 90% complete.

Balcony – Balustrades –installation 95% complete, decking to follow.

Chiller – cold room and mains feed to chiller works complete. Testing and commissioning

now on-going.

Parting Carn:

Batching concrete for quay extension and widening foundations continues.

Demobilisation ongoing.

Stone cutting for new wall installation to quay widening.

Porthloo:

Bag filling operations for delivery to Parting Carn or direct to the quay ongoing.

Recycling of the dredged material at Porthloo continues using Tractor Trailer and a Wheeled Excavator.

Kier has installed cameras on all working vehicles with a recording facility for appraisals and record

purposes.
