No Insurance Pay Outs At Scilly’s Council
Scilly’s council says it hasn’t had to make a single claim on its personal injury insurance in the last two financial years.
That’s in sharp contrast with many other authorities. In Wales, £3.7m was paid out over a three-year period.
Scilly’s Town Hall data was released in response to a Freedom of Information request, sent to all councils in the country.
At the recent public meeting on St Mary’s, island resident Stuart Moore asked the Council Chief Executive Theo Leijser what provisions the Town Hall had in place in case any individuals take action against the authority.
Mr Leijser said insurance was in place, although he admitted that it didn’t cover everything.
