St Mary’s BT Equipment Damaged In Road Accident

bt openreach superfastBT equipment used to provide superfast broadband on St Mary’s has been damaged in a road accident.

A Kier Construction lorry collided with one of the green roadside cabinets near the Parting Carn turn on Telegraph Road on Sunday night.

BT says that nobody has lost internet service because of the crash at this point.

But staff have covered the kit with tarpaulin to keep rain out and to protect the internal electronics while they await a permanent repair.

Locals reported the damage to BT on Monday morning.

The driver of the vehicle has been to see the police and Sergeant Colin Taylor says there’s no further action to be taken because the driver reported the accident and passed on details to the property owner.
