St Mary’s Harbour Improvement Project Weekly Update From Kier

Week Ending 06 November 2015

Quay Extension:

Final mass concrete tie in complete.

Reinforcement and formwork for sea wall ongoing.

Grouting of the anchors on-going.

Fenders pre drilling ongoing.

Quay Widening:

36no level one pre-cast concrete units placed and anchored.

Foundation works 50% complete.

Works continue to foundations and pre-cast concrete units.

Oil interceptor, package pump station blower & pump station on site.

Harbourside building:

Ticket Office – Duchy works to fire alarm and intercom ongoing.

Freight Offices – Works to install chiller works & electrical feed ongoing.

Freight Store – Wall and roof cladding on-going.

Balcony – Balustrades –installation 95% complete, roof membrane complete, decking to follow.

Chiller – cold room complete, mains feed to chiller required for testing and commissioning.

Parting Carn:

Batching concrete for quay extension and widening foundations continues.

Demobilisation being undertaken.

Porthloo:

Bag filling operations for delivery to Parting Carn or direct to the quay now escalated to include weekends.

The second phase programme forms part of the above increased works.

Recycling of the dredged material at Porthloo continues over this weekend using Tractor Trailer and a Wheeled

Excavator.

Kier has installed cameras on all working vehicles with a recording facility for appraisals and record

purposes.
