Police Sergeant Believes Missing Josh Still On Tresco
Since last Sunday morning, search efforts on Tresco have intensified and have led to the largest operation of its kind in Scilly in generations.
Friends and family have not heard from Josh who disappeared after a night out on the island in the early hours of Sunday.
Yesterday a group of 14 search specialists – volunteers from Cornwall Search and Rescue – arrived on Tresco to continue efforts to find Josh.
During the week, police divers, search dogs, the St Mary’s lifeboat and both the police and RNAS Culdrose helicopters have also been in action along with dozens of locals.
On Friday evening Sergeant Colin Taylor repeated his belief that the missing 23-year old was still on Tresco.
In a statement to Radio Scilly, Colin says: “From our work on his phone and financial usage we have no reason to suppose he left the vicinity of Tresco. We also take into consideration the circumstances of him going missing and what we now know about his lifestyle from family, friends and colleagues.”
Colin says the search will continue through the weekend and after then a decision will be made as to whether to carry on into next week.
