The Jack-Up Barge Will Be Leaving Scilly Soon!

The St Mary’s Harbour team advise that the jack up rig, currently in position at the end of the quay, will be demobilised prior to transit away from the Islands. On the early HW on Thursday 10th (0349 4.7m) the jack up rig will move from the quay extension site to the inner berth. It will be manoeuvred with the tug ‘Vulcan 2’ and the pilot vessel ‘Pegasus’.
On the early HW on Friday 11th (0431 4.9m) the large crane will transfer from the jack up rig to the barge ‘Stemat’ using the tug ‘Vulcan 2’ and the pilot boat ‘Pegasus’. After the transfer the ‘Stemat’ will remain in the outer berth until 1130 after which she will be towed to the Nut Rock moorings before heading to sea.The then empty jack up rig will remain in the inner berth until ready for sea.
