Food Takes Centre Stage On Tresco And Bryher This Weekend
Organiser Issy Tibbs is hoping to beat last year’s record attendance of 500 people who turned up to sample what was on offer.
This fourth annual food event will showcase the best in produce from all over the islands.
The stalls and sessions are being held on Saturday on Tresco and moving across the channel to Bryher on Sunday.
And Issy says there are some new businesses showing their wares, including Scilly Maid Chocolate and Bryher’s new Island Fish Company.
For those who like to get hands on, Tresco is offering some food skill sessions including fish filleting classes and a pasta-making workshop.
Last year the festival launched some activities for children, which worked well. Issy says there’s more planned for Sunday on Bryher with cupcake decorating and homemade sweets.
The Islands’ Partnership has launched a team that are developing different events and Issy says this independent Tresco and Bryher weekend hopes to work alongside the tourism body.
She says they’ll be having meetings in the future to see how the two groups can work more closely together.
Issy says the event has now become well established, with visitors booking in especially for the weekend.
