Tresco Holding Unique Event To Celebrate Low Tides

tresco new grimsby 3There’ll be live music in the middle of the Tresco Channel on Bank Holiday Monday in a unique event arranged to make the most of the very low water.

Tresco Estate says their ‘Pop-up Pop’ featuring an acoustic session by Joss Lawson is a first.

The site between Merrick Island and Great Crabs Ledge is often submerged by up to five metres of water.

Tresco staff will arrange tables, chairs, a bar and fire pits as the water recedes.

They’ll be cooking mussels and selling prosecco in a temporary bar on the sandbar.

And while the estate staff will walk and drive over from Tresco to set up their side of the event, Amanda Pender will meet them half way, travelling from Bryher to host her Island Fish seafood stall.

If you go along, you’ll be shown how to dig for razor clams or go ‘spratting’ for whitebait.

But you’re told to take cash because there won’t be card payment facilities.
