Your Chance To Question NHS Kernow

St Mary's Hospital

St Mary’s Hospital

Islanders will be able to question the body responsible for commissioning health services when NHS Kernow visit St Mary’s next month.

Their governing body is meeting at the Old Wesleyan Chapel at 10.30am on 8th September.

Although the meeting agenda isn’t finalised, it’s likely that they’ll discuss the future operation of St Mary’s Hospital.

Its current operator Peninsula Community Health recently announced that they are pulling out of their contract to run our hospital from 1st April next year.

PCH also provide the dental contract.

NHS Kernow is responsible for recruiting a new operator and they’ve said that the service and local jobs are safe.

Yesterday, NHS Kernow’s Press Office told Radio Scilly that islanders can submit questions about the future of the hospital and PCH’s replacement but they added that there have been no developments as yet.

Your questions need to be posted ahead of the meeting to Terry Ancell, NHS Kernow, Sedgemoor Centre, St Austell, PL25 5AS or sent by email to terryancell@nhs.net.
