Marathon Runner Smashes Fundraising Target
A St Mary’s man who ran two marathons in support of the Children With Cancer charity says he’s grateful to locals and visitors for their support.
Martin Douglas has raised £1,700, £200 more than his target.
He says his fundraising raffle for Star Castle meals and a Hell Bay break brought in £600 but joked that it was harder than running the two 26-mile courses.
Martin thanked everyone who donated prizes and bought raffle tickets.
He says he intends to run again for the charity, either this year or in 2016, if his hamstring problem improves.
The Berlin marathon in September could be a possibility, although Martin admits it’s “getting a bit close.”
