The St Mary’s Lifeboat crew are currently assisting a French yacht. It has run aground near Yellow Rock, north of Samson.

There’s one person on board the Vietis Too.

The sailor radioed for assistance at around 4.30am this morning. Falmouth Coastguard say he’s not in any immediate danger and the RNLI crew are waiting for an improvement in the weather before they decide what to do next.

It is the second shout for the volunteers this weekend. The lifeboat towed a yacht into St Mary’s on Friday night.

This evening, thanks will be given to the bravery of the volunteer lifeboat crew during the annual lifeboat service. It is hoped that the worship can take place at Holgate’s Green but if the weather is bad, the service will be held inside the Methodist Church at 8pm.
