St Mary’s Harbour Improvement Project Weekly Update From Kier

Week Ending 24 July 2015:

Quay Extension:

Aggregate fill of Level 6 is nearing completion as shown above.

Level 7 blocks will commence this week weather permitting when

construction will be clearly visible above sea level.

Quay Widening:

Clearing of the boulder field will commence shortly in preparation for construction of the ramp.

Harbourside building:

Waterproofing of the Ticket Office is 90% complete, pending balcony & balustrade finishing’s.

Windows now fitted with rendering this week.

Recently instructed New Chiller Store Structural Steelwork currently under fabrication. Erection to

commence week commencing17 Aug 15.

Waiting Room – Painting continues with flooring & furniture scheduled for next week.

Staircase & Balcony steelwork in fabrication expected this week.

Freight Store has been suspended to 01 Sep 15. Freight Office – Door linings and rendering in progress followed by M & E.

Parting Carn – Recycling:

A Crusher will be installed to separate concrete, construction & waste material.

Bicycles have now been received and utilised by Kier staff reducing the use of fossil fuel transport

and subsequently the carbon footprint.

Porthloo:

Daily maintenance of the material at Porthloo will continue.

Precast yard in Plymouth – Final Casting Phase

Quay Extension – 12 Slabs & 6 Infill blocks complete

4 flights of stairs complete by end Jul 15.

Quay Widening blocks and remaining13 Parapet Wall Units now complete.
