The Five Islands School PE teacher says records were broken at Thursday’s Primary sports day. This year St Agnes’ school base hosted the games.

Martyn Songhurst told Radio Scilly that Phin Austin threw 17m with the turbo javelin and Alex McMurray won the high jump with 1.15m.

The overall competition was won by the Shearwater house.

But one youngster should get top marks for trying. He came prepared for the egg and spoon race with blue-tack!

Martyn says he won, but had no idea that he couldn’t use it.
