Poetry Trail Launched On St Mary’s

garrison pathEagle eyed locals are being encourage to spot poetry posted in different places around St Mary’s.

Island resident Geri Bright has put up ten compositions from poets including Charles Kingsley, Rupert Brooke and John Masefield as part of her new poetry trail.

The poem subjects have been chosen as appropriate for their setting – Wordsworth’s ‘The Daffodils,’ for example, is displayed opposite a bulb shop.

And Geri says she’s chosen words that complement the beauty of the islands, which she hopes will inspire people who read them and give them pleasure.

Geri’s not producing a list of locations. She wants you to find them yourself and says you should look at places like noticeboards around the island.
