St Agnes Island Hall Picks Up Another Award

st agnes island hall side viewThe new Island Hall on St Agnes has won a third prestigious award for its design.

It’s come joint top in the Cornish Buildings Group Award Scheme.

That follows wins in the Cornwall Sustainability Awards and the Michelmores South West Property Awards earlier this year.

Judges said the architects, Poynton, Bradbury, Wynter and Cole, had achieved a sensitive restoration of an old chapel and the creation of a significant new multi-use building.

They said it was a thoughtful restoration of a building, which is important in the local community, combined with very high quality modern design.

The Cornish Buildings Group, which was set up in 1969, encourages the protection and repair of historic buildings in the region, including listed buildings or good examples of traditional structures.

The Island Hall was placed top alongside Maer Barn near Bude.
