Busy Week For Cornwall Air Ambulance
On Monday, the helicopter was requested by Paramedics on Tresco at around 6pm after a man suffered head and back injuries in a fall.
He was taken to Treliske Hospital, arriving there 30 minutes after leaving the islands.
And on Tuesday, the ambulance was sent to St Mary’s at around 2pm to help a woman suffering a hip injury, also after a fall. She was airlifted to Truro.
So far this year Cornwall Air Ambulance has responded to 19 calls to Scilly – 15 times to St Mary’s, 3 times to Tresco and once to Bryher.
Emergencies have included 3 cardiac problems and 2 sports injuries.
