Former Islands’ Police Office One Of Plymouth’s ‘Top Women’

faye webbPopular former Scilly Police Officer Faye Webb has been named as one of Plymouth’s ‘Women Of The Year’ by the city’s local newspaper.

The Plymouth Herald has chosen Faye as the number 5 local in their top 10 list.

The chart recognises, “Plymouth’s most inspirational, heroic, selfless or just plain lovely women.”

Earlier this spring, Faye left Scilly to return to policing in Plymouth after her deployment to the islands ended.

The paper refers to Faye’s courage in learning to walk again after she was thrown from a horse on St Mary’s in February last year, suffering multiple fractures. She was medically evacuated to hospital by the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Faye is undertaking a 10-day trek along the Great Wall of China to raise money for the charity to say thanks.

She says she “cannot contain” herself after she was selected by the paper.
