St Mary’s Harbour Update From Kier Construction

Here’s the latest news on the St Mary’s Quay widening and extension work from Kier construction.

Kier say that the concrete pour which was expected to last three weeks was completed in one day, which reduced disruption..

The delivery barge with the precast concrete units has arrived from Falmouth and the installation of the blocks started last weekend. At the precast yard in Plymouth, 65 of 71 main quay extension blocks have been cast and 75% of the quay widening blocks have been cast.

At the Harbourside building, the Waiting room building works are ready for decoration and are now awaiting windows and doors. They are on order and should take approximately two weeks to arrive.

The furniture for the waiting room is expected in 2-3 weeks.

The new ticket office steel work will arrive in 2 weeks.

The excavation of the slab for the new chiller store is nearing completion with just some plumbing and drainage work remaining.

Dismantling of the old chiller is near to completion when it will be donated to the Fisherman’s Association.
