Four Generations To Gather For St Martins Christenings

Four generations of the Williams family will gather in St Martins Church on Sunday afternoon for the christenings of Jake, Isabel and Nia Williams, the children of Tony and Natalie Williams of Studio Cottage, Higher Town.

The youngest Nia will be christened in the gown worn by her mum Natalie and grandmother Carol when they were christened.

Natalie’s maternal grandmother June, who will be celebrating her 84th birthday on Sunday, and Christine, Natalie’s paternal grandmother (and the children’s great grandmothers) will also be present.

Commenting on the ceremony, Canon Paul Miller said: “We are all really looking forward to this special occasion with so many generations present.”

“I know islanders will turn out in force and Tony and Natalie want to ensure that visitors are welcome as well. A tea party has been arranged at the St Martins Community Centre after the ceremony to which all are welcome.”
