New Stained Glass Window For St Agnes Church

A second new stained glass window has been installed at St Agnes church.

Islanders and visitors raised over £18,000 for the project, under the leadership of Jimmy and Su Paget Brown, through donations and even the sale of tea towels.

The window shows two gigs being rowed out towards the Western Rocks and a distant wreck, with the words, “When you pass through the waves I will be with you.”

The artwork was made by Oriel Hicks and has been encased in a bespoke frame created by Steve Harding.

It complements the window installed in 2013, which features St Agnes lighthouse.

The new window is already attracting favourable comments in the church visitors book.

There’ll be a service to officially dedicate the window later this summer.
