Hell Bay Hotel Highly Commended In National Tourism Awards

hell bay hotelThere are 45,000 hotels in the UK and Bryer’s Hell Bay is officially one of the best in England.

Last night, the Tresco Estate-owned business was Highly Commended in the Small Hotel category of the national Visit England awards.

Manager Philip Callan wasn’t able to attend the event in Newcastle because his acclaimed pop-up restaurant The Crab Shack opens today.

But he says he’s “absolutely delighted” that all of the hard work that his team has put in has been recognised and rewarded by the judges.

Philip says the endorsement will have an impact on the business, Bryher and all of Scilly, with the raised profile bringing more enquiries and bookings.

He was also pleased to see that the Visit England awards website and promotional literature has used an image of Hell Bay on the cover.

The South West region achieved 19 awards overall including 3 Gold awards, 4 Silvers and 4 Bronzes.

Robin Barker of awards organisers Services for Tourism, commented: “This has been an outstanding awards year, with more entries than ever and outstanding quality. The winners are all worthy ambassadors for the region.

“As one cycle ends another begins, and we are already receiving entries for the 2015/16 Awards, which launched two weeks ago. Entry is free and we look forward to seeing record entries and to take the region to new heights.”
