Scillonian III Registration Assistant Required

This vacancy is for a seasonal part-time position based on St Mary’s Quay

starting immediately and working until 8th November 2015

Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for registering Scillonian III

passengers prior to sailing as well as assisting passengers and dealing with enquiries.

Applicants must be able to work under pressure, have good customer service skills, be

computer literate, articulate and of smart appearance.

Successful applicants will need to be flexible as the hours are on an ad hoc basis worked

out on a roster. The roster is flexible provided that any changes requested by the

registration staff are made through the Customer Services Supervisor, so that there are

always enough staff on duty to cover each sailing.

Hours within this roster are three to five days per week from Monday to Saturday with

some Sunday sailings in the peak summer months and occasional extra sailings.

Normal hours of work are approximately 1500–1645, or 1330–1515 on Saturdays during

the summer. The hours of work can vary due to tidal or weather conditions,

occasionally at short notice, so flexibility will be an advantage.

Knowledge of the islands and local area are also an advantage.

The rate of pay is £7.21 per hour, with pro rata paid holidays and excellent benefits.

Work wear and training will be provided.

Application forms can be obtained from the Hugh Town Office.

Closing date for applications: Monday 4th May 2015

Interviews to take place Thursday 7th May 2015
