Busy Weekend For Air Ambulance In Scilly

Cornwall Air Ambulance 2015The Cornwall Air Ambulance had a busy Easter weekend in Scilly, responding to two emergencies.

On Easter Sunday the helicopter was called out to transfer a male patient suffering severe abdominal pains from St Mary’s to the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

And then on Easter Monday, paramedics on Tresco requested assistance for a patient suffering from angina, who was also transferred to Treliske.

Air Ambulance Spokesman Tom Matthews was in Scilly this weekend and he says he knows just how vital the service can be to these remote islands.

He said he also appreciates how incredible Scillonian people and visitors are at supporting their air ambulance.

“They truly are the generous isles!” says Tom.

Cornwall Air Ambulance responded to a total of 14 missions across Scilly and Cornwall over the Bank Holiday period and has already flown 163 missions in 2015.
