Pizza Delivery…By Boat

Richard Mills Pizza Delivery 2015On an island that isn’t known for its take away restaurants, we might just have had a first on St Mary’s on Monday… a pizza delivery by boat.

The meals were taken out to workers on the KML barge anchored in St Mary’s Harbour by Speros owner Richard Mills.

Richard says it was the first day that the restaurant’s new pizza oven had been ‘fired up’ and wife Amelia was experimenting with dough recipes and toppings.

“It seemed a shame to waste them,” he said.

The three pizzas, a margherita, a spicy chorizo and a goat’s cheese, made it to the barge in one piece on board his inflatable.

So will this mean takeaways delivered by boat?

International chain ‘Domino Pizza’ guarantee, that if you don’t get your order within thirty minutes it’s free.

Richard says that’s an idea that could be adapted. He says his fast rib could easily make it to St Agnes in that time.

Richard says a sample of Amelia’s new recipes were also sent to the Harbour Office.
