Friends In High Places For IoS Clothing Business

49 degrees on Everest

It appears that Hugh Town clothing store 49 Degrees has friends in high places.

Former island resident Martin Sherris has carried a Scilly-bought shirt 5,365m above sea level to the Everest base camp.

The photo, taken by another former islander Corentyn Smith from the world’s highest mountain in Nepal, is the latest in a growing collection of snaps showing Terry Ward’s distinctive designs in exotic and unusual places worldwide.

IoS branded clothes have been seen in Japan, New Zealand and South Africa. Actor Jude Law has also been pictured sporting one of their baseball caps.

49 Degrees MontageGeorgia May says they’ve posted items to interesting addresses including Hawaii, Italy and even to Paramount Studios on Broadway, New York!

She says she’d love to receive photos from customers wearing clothes featuring the distinctive crossed oars logo, which she’s hoping to put online.
