Pupils Prove That ‘Scilly’s Got Talent’

school summer 1Pupils from the Five Islands School have been proving that ‘Scilly’s Got Talent’ while raising money for charity.

Twenty-five acts took part in the bi-annual talent contest held last Thursday.

It was organised by the Student Council and Student Forum in aid of Comic Relief.

Entries spanned the entire age range, from Reception class up to Year 11, and they included song, dance, comedy and acting.

The school’s Head Boy and Girl compered the event, while a panel of staff and Student Council members judged the acts.

The winner of the Primary category was Amber who performed ‘Count on Me.’

In the Secondary category Tean came out on top with her performance of ‘Save Me from Myself.’

The overall ‘Scilly’s Got Talent’ winner for 2015 was the group Tilli and the Tillettes performing a rap and dance routine.

All three winning acts performed next day at the Friday school assemblies.

Deputy Head Teacher Liz Duffy-Griffiths said all the acts were superb and the sell-out event was well supported by students and their families.

The pupils managed to raise just over £500 for the charity.
