New Chef Bringing A Taste Of Cape Cod To Scilly

Scilly’s newest chef is promising to bring a taste of the States to a St Mary’s pub.

Brian Moore has spent years preparing seafood in restaurants in Cape Cod – the playground of well-heeled Americans including the Kennedy family

Brian only arrived at the Bishop and Wolf on St Mary’s this week and he feels there are similarities between the islands and the Massachusetts coast.

He wants to reflect that on the menu, with plenty of seafood and classic dishes like Boston crab cakes.

Brian has also worked at Gidleigh Park on Dartmoor, the restaurant of two-Michelin-starred celebrity chef Michael Caines.

And he’s fed some celebrities too, including actor Robert Carlyle, for whom he was an on-location chef.

Brian says he’s already aware of the challenges of island life from his time meeting the demands of customers at a resort on Zante, in Greece.
