This is a seasonal part-time position based on St Mary’s Quay starting 16th March 2015 until 8th November 2015

Successful applicants will need to be flexible as the hours are on an ad hoc basis worked out on a roster. The roster is flexible provided that any changes requested by the registration staff are made through the Customer Services Supervisor, so that there is always enough staff on duty to cover each sailing.

Hours within this roster are three to five days per week from Monday to Saturday with some Sunday sailings in the peak summer months and occasional extra sailings. Normal hours of work are approximately 1500–1645, or 1330–1515 on Saturdays during the summer. The hours of work can vary due to tidal or weather conditions, occasionally at short notice, so flexibility will be an advantage.

Knowledge of the islands and local area are also an advantage.

The rate of pay is £7.21 per hour, with pro rata paid holidays and excellent benefits. Work wear and training will be provided.

Application forms can be obtained from the Hugh Town Office.

Closing date for applications: Friday 6th March 2015
Interviews to take place: Tuesday 10th March 2015

Duties to include:

Checking in of passengers and issuing boarding passes for the Scillonian III.

Helping with any queries relating to sailing and to the islands in general.
