Five Islands School Pupil Raises Money For Heart Charity

caleb wrightA St Mary’s schoolboy who has undergone three major heart operations has raised £600 for the British Heart Foundation.

Year 6 student Caleb Wright explained his condition to students during an assembly presentation on the 6th February.

Following his talk, the Student Council and Student Forum helped organise a fundraising day at the school to coincide with the national campaign day, which encouraged people to wear red.

Head Teacher Linda Todd has praised Caleb for his presentations to both the primary and secondary school during which explained why the charity was so dear to him.

And Deputy Head Teacher Liz Duffy-Griffiths has commended Caleb for his leadership skills and fundraising initiative.

Caleb’s mum Therese says that the whole family are really proud of him.
