The producer of this year’s St Mary’s Theatre Club pantomime says she is pleased with how well the show was received.

Maggie Perkovic says that the cast of ‘Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp’ played to full seats at the Town Hall during the three main shows. The dress rehearsal was three-quarters full.

Maggie says all the artists were outstanding but at the Friday performance, a large pot
plant brought the house down by ‘bowing’ at the same time as the Magician,
which proved so popular that the Emperor, played by David Corners, brought
it on at the end for a final bow to the audience.

Maggie says that the addition of the Lesley Thomas Dancing School proved a “crowd pleaser” too and that June Lethbridge’s backdrop of Peking “drew gasps of admiration.”

She added that the orchestra was excellent too and everyone’s hard work paid off, with a very popular production.
