Fraud Couple To Pay Back Money Spent On Scilly Holidays

tresco new grimsby 2A Yorkshire woman who was jailed after stealing from her workplace to fund holidays in Scilly will have to pay back £680,000 to her former employer.

51-year-old Jennifer Ward of Wigginton Road in York recycled used vouchers that she was meant to destroy as part of her Asda accounts job.

Between 2006 and 2008 her partner Alistair Gordon Lobban, used £30,000 of the fraudulently obtained cash to fund Tresco timeshares at Dial Rocks.

The pair also enjoyed stays at the Star Castle between 2004 and 2009 and booked self-catering breaks at the Golf Farm House on St Mary’s over 3 years from 2007.

Ward was jailed for 2 years in June 2013 and Lobban received a one-year sentence for money laundering.

At a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing at Leeds Crown Court the couple were found to have benefited from the proceeds of crime. Lobban will have to repay almost £57,766 himself and if they don’t, they’ll face additional prison time.
