Scilly’s University Of The Third Age Group is expanding it’s interest groups into finance and theatre.

The membership organisation provides social and educational sessions for retired and part time working islanders.

Tomorrow, they will add drama to their list of activities, as their play performance group presents ‘A Members Tail.’ It’s a play written by a midlands-based member, who won a writing competition with a spoof on joining the international organisation.

Linda Wornes is leading that activity. Linda says the seven-strong team won’t learn lines as that’s too much work to take on, but they’ll present the play from the script with musical interludes between scenes.

Anyone is welcome to view the first outing of the performance session for an hour from 10.30am at the Methodist Hall on Thursday.

The U3A has also added an economics debating forum, convened by Linda’s husband Ray.

The group has discussed different methods of savings, investments and returns.
