Scilly Becoming ‘Bucket List’ Walking Destination Says Operator

walkers on strandA travel operator that arranges walking tours all over the world says there’s so much interest in Scilly, they’re likely to increase the number of trips arranged here.

Langdale Walking Holidays, which is a based in the Lake District, arrange rambling breaks in destinations as diverse as Columbia, Patagonia, South Africa and Utah.

They’ve arranged Scilly itineraries once every three years but they say they’re now looking to make them annual.

Their June 2015 break, which will be led by islander Chris Potterton, is already sold out.

Marketing Director Amanda Green says there so much interest in the islands that they’re considering making two trips here next year too.

Amanda says the small parties of around 16 people provide a relaxed and sociable way to discover Scilly and their feedback indicates that their customers love the islands, in particular the flora and fauna. And as we don’t have many hills, it’s considered a ‘gentle’ walking area.

Scilly is becoming a must-visit, ‘bucket list’ destination for many walkers, says Amanda.
