Fire Crew Called To St Mary’s Quay

St Mary’s Firefighters were called out just before 9 o’clock this morning to tackle a small fire in an outbuilding on the Quay. It is thought that an electric fault caused the blaze in one of the storage freezers used by fishermen. Harbour staff brought the fire under control but due to the proximity of gas storage and petrol pumps the fire service were called to check the area. They used 1 hose reel to douse the site of the fire and hot wood was removed before the area was declared safe. A Western Power worker was on hand to isolate the power supply by removing the main fuse.
