New Land’s End Runway Boosts Christmas Flight Bookings

skybus-planes-at-airportThere’s good news for Scilly’s economy this festive season.

Skybus says Christmas bookings are up by one-fifth compared to last year.

Ticket sales for the two-week period over Christmas and New Year, from 20th December until 3rd January, are up by 20.4% compared with the same period in 2013.

The company says that there are still bookings being made at this stage but based on last year for December as a whole, they expect around two-thirds of travellers to have booked by now.

They say this is “encouraging.”

Skybus are reporting an increase in Land’s End airport bookings in particular, adding that the hardened runways have had a tangible impact in boosting confidence in the reliability of their air services.
