Scilly’s Rotary Club Launches Ebola Appeal

rotary club signScilly’s Rotarians have launched a fundraising drive for victims of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Over the next few days, collection boxes will be placed in all the islands’ Post Offices.

The appeal is an example of the global mutual support network offered between Rotary Clubs worldwide.

Tim Guthrie says the St Mary’s-based Rotary Club was contacted by the branch in Marlow who had, in turn, been approached for help by fellow Rotarians in Liberia.

Tim says the money will be going direct to Rotarians in Monrovia, who will ensure that the funds are spent “at the coalface.” He says every pound donated will go to help victims in Africa.
