Quicker Journeys Likely As Government Announces More A30 Dualling

Visitors travelling to Penzance quay and Land’s End airport by car should see quicker journeys in future, especially in the busy summer months.

It follows the announcement by the government this morning that the last remaining stretch of the A30 between Exeter and Camborne is to be made a dual carriageway.

The section between Carland Cross and Chiverton Cross should be completed within six years.

Work to dual the A30 between Temple and Higher Carblake was announced earlier this year.

Scilly’s MP Andrew George says road planners now need to look further west.

Andrew says the Carland-Chiverton ‘bottle-neck’ has been a priority since the Victoria stretch was completed, but the next priority has to be to find a long-term solution to the section from Rose-an-grouse in St Erth to Long Rock, near Penzance.
