Council Election Taking Place On St Mary’s Today

polling stationSt Mary’s residents can vote for a new councillor today.

There are two candidates for the St Mary’s seat, which has been vacant since the death of Cllr Roy Duncan in August.

Ted Moulson and Mark Prebble are both standing for election as Independents.

1,307 islanders are registered to vote. Postal votes were opened yesterday.

Islanders who want to vote in person can go to the Town Hall before 10pm tonight.

The count takes places tomorrow and the Council expects to announce the winner around lunchtime.
