Scilly’s guides are fundraising for their 2015 camp visit. Earlier this summer, the islands’ Brownies went on a trip to the Foxlease Activity Centre in the New Forest.

Troop leader ‘Tawny Owl’ Fiona Robson says the feedback has been excellent and the girls gained some useful life skills, including getting to know their fellow Brownies better and working as a team.

And Fiona says the girls haven’t stopped talking about it since they’ve got back.

Over the last few weeks a montage of the girls’ drawings from their Hampshire trip and their comments book has been on display in the St Mary’s Church Hall.

Fiona says it has been good to give the girls such a high profile. Most of the Brownies wrote about the excitement of tree climbing although one girl described how seeing the forest animals in the wildlife park had convinced her to become vegetarian.
