School Football Club Makes Plea For More Committee Members

football childrenOne of the islands’ most popular children’s sports clubs could fold unless parents stand for the committee.

Helen Glenn from the Five Islands School Football Club says this Saturday’s session could be the last unless some mums and dads are prepared to give up their time to keep it going.

She says that the turnout to Tuesday’s AGM was “disappointing” when so many youngsters benefit from the club sessions.

There youngsters have enjoyed coaching trips to the mainland in previous years. That hasn’t happened this year because there haven’t been enough adult helpers.

Helen says she’s hoping that some mums and dad will visit the club’s session on The Garrison on Saturday and volunteer for the committee, because if they don’t, it won’t be able to continue.
