The Duchy of Cornwall has appointed a Deputy Land Steward for the islands.

It’s a new post, first created in the New Year and has been introduced as Land Steward Chris Gregory is spending more time away from Scilly.

Luke Humphries, a Chartered Surveyor and Agricultural Valuer, will be joining the team at Hugh House in the autumn.

He will be relocating to the islands from Lincoln with his wife Lucy and three sons.

Luke will take over the day-to-day management of Duchy tenancies on the islands and will assume responsibility for many of the tasks currently undertaken by Chris. He’ll also negotiate new tenancy agreements and conduct rent reviews.

Chris will assume responsibility for the Duchy’s Western District from October and will be based in Cornwall, where he will concentrate on strategic management of the Districts.
