River Trader and Scilly Airport Works Update – 2nd Sept

The River Trader will off-load again tonight. St Mary’s Harbourmaster Dale Clark expects them to start work at around 8pm. Aggregate will be unloaded and conveyed through town and on to the airport site, as usual. Dale estimates that they won’t need to work all night as they have 150-200 tons to move. 78 pallets of bitumen are also being brought ashore from the Arromanches landing craft to the Rechabite slip later today.
Lagan say that asphalt works tonight will be around the Airport terminal but road works on the Island’s roads will resume on Wednesday. Radio Scilly will have an update either this evening or a breakfast time tomorrow.
