On an island where many locals are reputed enjoy their alcoholic drinks, St Austell Brewery says a different sort of brew is boosting their bottom line.

In a national catering trade magazine, they claim that the Atlantic Inn and Hotel revenue is up 11% since they’ve started their in-pub coffee bar.

The chain added a coffee counter featuring their own ‘Brewer and Bean’ brand when they refurbished the pub in the Spring.

22 of the brewery’s managed pubs now have them and overall, coffee sales at the Atlantic Inn and Hotel are up 99% compared to 2013 because of it.

Marketing and Communications Director Jeremy Mitchell says it’s proving very popular with local residents and also with visitors to the islands.
