River Trader Operations Overnight 16th August

The offloading operations, which will mean vehicles loaded with aggregate will be brought through town,

have been planned to commence as soon as the quay quietens

down on Saturday 16th August.

Lagan Construction will commence bringing equipment through the town between this time and 5 pm.

The plant moving into position will be the wheeled excavator and tractors with empty trailers. Movement of loaded vehicles is

expected to commence between 5:30 and 6:00 pm.

If they are unable to complete the off-loading in 1 night we will continue on Sunday evening

starting at about the same time subject to confirmation from the Harbour Master.

The route will be the same as on previous occasions and starts at the Quay, via Hugh

Street, Church Street, the Old School, Telegraph Road, Parting Carn Farm and to the site.

The return journey will be the same with the empty trailers passing along the Strand rather

than Church Street.

On Saturday evening Lagan aim to be operating 6 tractors and trailers which run in 3 pairs

whilst the bulk of the material is offloaded. Provided there are no mechanical or tide

problems this is likely to be up to 2 am Sunday. Please note this time is

approximate. Thereafter there may be fewer tractors and trailers and some / all may be

running singly. If we need to operate on Sunday the configuration of tractors and the time of

operation will depend on progress the previous night.
